HOW TO USE THE INDOOR FIRE STOVE

We do not provide firewood, and will have to be brought if you wish to use fire burning stove or outdoor fire pit. Sometimes there will be left over wood from previous guests that you are welcome to use if it is there. Only treated firewood should be used in the indoor stove and nothing else. Including newspaper or plastics, these can wreck the life of the stove. We suggest to pick up Fire Wood at the local Lowes, it is 12 minutes away from the house. You can pre-purchase on the Lowes app, and do curbside pickup, that makes it super convenient. Fire starters are provided at the house.

HOW TO SAFELY START A FIRE :

  1.  Place two pieces of wood overlapping each other

  2.  Light the fire starters on fire place 1-2 fire starters under and in between the logs

  3.  Leave fireplace door open 1-2 inches to let air flow draft up the flute of the stove. This air starts the fire. Wait about 10 minutes until the fire has caught fire to the logs and is burning well. Do not leave the stove while the door is open, it is very easy to forget and walk away.

  4. Use the gloves beside the stove to open and close the door, it can get hot once the fire has been burning for a while. Add on logs when needed.

  5.  That’s it! Sit back and enjoy.

CLEANING OUT ASHES

+ After use, the ashes need to be cleaned out of the base of the stove.

+ Use the small brush and dust pan to remove ashes. Place ashes into black bucket beside the stove.  Set the black bucket outside beside the front door.
